The Effectiveness of Using Comic Stories in Learning English Reading Skills Among Primary School Students in Private Schools in Al-Mazar Al-Janoubi Education Directorate

Abstract:                                                                                                                                                                            

The current study aims to identify the effectiveness of using comic stories in learning English reading skills for primary school students in private schools affiliated with the Southern Mazar Education Directorate. The study sample consisted of (16) fourth grade students at Al Thawabat Private Educational School in Al Mazar Al Janoubi Directorate. The Students were divided into two groups: an experimental group consisting of (8) students and a control group consisting of (8) students. The study followed the quasi-experimental approach. The study concluded that there were statistically significant differences in the post-test of English reading skills between the experimental group and the control group, in favor of the experimental group. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between the members of the experimental group in the post and follow-up test of English reading skill
