The Effectiveness of a Counseling Program Based on Alice's Theory in Reducing the Level of Dependency and Future Anxiety among Studying Mothers Who Have Children
Abstract:
This study wants to see how well a counseling program, based on Alice's theory, can help student mothers reduce their dependence and anxiety about the future. The research group is made up of (30) student mothers. They are chosen because they scored the highest on tests measuring dependency and anxiety. These mothers also agreed to take part in counseling based on Alice's theory. They are divided randomly into two groups, with (15) mothers in each group. The study used a method that was partly experimental, and it found that there were important differences between the performances of the two groups. The experimental group did better on the dependence scale and had less anxiety about the future after participating in the program. There are also important differences in scores on the dependence scale and future anxiety between the post-measurement and follow-up measurement in favor of the follow-up measurement.
