The Structure of the Narrations of Al-Fath bin Khaqan Al-Ishbiliy
Abstract:
This research studies the structure of the news narrations included in the writings of Al-Fath bin Khaqan Al-Ishbili: "Qa'ilad Al-Aqyan" and "Matmah of Al-Anfs," which were written in two main patterns, one of them: a simple pattern whose construction depended on the event unit formed from a single central narrative nucleus; to embody a specific action or event; and the other is a complex pattern, based on the structure of the narrative in the presentation of the news. The research investigated certain structural features that distinguished the embedded news narrations from each other, as the simple news narrations were connected to the descriptive narration, which came as a reflection of what it contained in its assumptions of selected poetic inclusions, as well as considering the literary language that is highly decorated with figures of speech, apposite to the narratives of a complex nature, which was identified with the origins of the art of the inherited tale (narration), in addition to its inclusion of narrative techniques that intersected with some of the statements of modernist narrative theorists.
