Abstract
This study investigated the difficulties of scientific research skills as perceived by postgraduate students at Zarqa University. The population of the study consisted of (220) students registered in the first semester of the academic year 2016/2017, of which (119) responded (54.1%). A questionnaire was developed as a tool of data collection, which was tested for its validity and reliability.
The results showed that the total degree of response to scientific research skills was estimated as average, and that all study dimensions were estimated average too. They also revealed that postgraduate students face four main difficulties in scientific research: formulating the title of the study, stating the problem and questions, writing the introduction, and choosing the right methodology and procedures. Results also revealed that no statistical differences were found between the means of respondents on the research difficulties they face due to the path of study, the year of study, faculty and sex.
