Influences of the Digital Culture on University Students from the Perspective of Students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Zarqa University and their attitudes towards it

Abstract:
This study investigated positive and negative influences of the digital culture on university students from the perspective of students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Zarqa University. Population of the study consisted of all (482) students enrolled in the second semester in the academic year 2014/2015. The sample consisted of (220) students, of whom (211) responded (95.9%).
A questionnaire was developed as a tool of data collection, it consisted of two domains: positive and negative influences, every one of them consisted of four dimensions, which were: personal, social, academic and economic influences.
Results showed that three of the positive influences: Social, personal and economic were estimated high, while academic influences were estimated medium. Also they showed that all same negative influences were estimated medium, and no significant differences at the level (α ≤ 0.05) were found on influences of the digital culture from student's perspective due to sex, level of study and specialization, and student's attitudes towards this culture were positive and estimated high.
