The Degree of Assimilation of Zarqa University Students of the Meaning of the Citizenships Concepts in light of Contemporary Challenges

Abstract:
The study aims at identifying the degree of the Assimilation of the meaning of the term "CITIZENSHIP" by the Zarqa University Students in light of contemporary challenges .The research sample composed of (708) male and female students during the academic year 2013/2014. To collect data and measure results, the standard measurement tool for the meaning of citizenship was made up of (36) questions distributed over (12) "understandings" of citizenship whereby each understanding was allocated three "positions" of the multiple choices given.
The results of the research showed that the degree of Zarqa University students' assimilation of the concepts of citizenship reached a positive percentage of (79.9%).Also, results showed that there are significant statistical differences attribuled to the college of residence which is more positive understanding to Human college students .The study also showed significant statistical differences attribuled to gender-variant towards female students.
In the light of the results of this study, the researcher presented a set of recommendations.
