Abstract

This study aimed at exploring the approach followed by Ibn Hijjah al Hamawi in dealing with rhetorical evidence in his book entitled: Khazanat al-Adab wa Ghayat al-Arab. This book is distinguished by spotting Arabic rhetorical evidences in accordance with a systemetic approach through which he changed the stereotypes about explaining the rhetorical evidence which prevailed in the margins and footnotes. The new style was concerned with explaining the rhetorical evidence by analyzing its content to achieve its stylistic appreciation. This approach is distinguished by showing the evidence's vatue & supporting it with other evidences in order to compare them. The study concludes that Ibn Hijeh's approach must be revived by Critics in order to show the stylistic effects of the evidences.
