Family Awareness of the Rights of Persons with Special Needs from the Perspective of Islamic Education

This study aims to highlight the importance of caring for individuals with special needs, emphasize the significance of family awareness, and examine the family's role in developing the personalities of its members as well as the individual skills of families of persons with special needs. The researcher used inductive and analytical methods in this study due to their suitability to the nature of the research. The researcher inductively examined the concept of family awareness and the concept of people with special needs, deriving a definition for each. The analytical method was used to analyze and deduce the roles assigned to the family and the skills that the family should possess. The researcher reached several conclusions, including: The importance of caring for people with special needs lies in helping them overcome their limitations and disabilities with a calm and contented spirit, accepting God's will and trusting in Him; helping them interact positively with their families and social environment; and helping them acquire mental and behavioral skills that make them more self-reliant in solving the problems they face, and protecting them from falling into behavioral and psychological deviations due to the psychological pressure, anxiety, and emotional distress imposed by the disability.
