Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the impact of using the KWL strategy on the academic achievement of seventh-grade female students in science at the Al-Qasr Education Directorate. The researcher used the experimental approach. The study sample consisted of (40) seventh-grade female students from the Al-Qasr Education Directorate. Two groups were selected: an experimental group consisting of (20) students who studied using the KWL strategy, and a control group consisting of (20) students who studied using the traditional method. The similarity of the two groups in their academic level was confirmed through a pre-achievement test. A post-achievement test was then used to measure the achievement of both groups after implementing the study. The validity and reliability of the test were verified. Among the most prominent findings of the study were: statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) in the achievement of seventh-grade female students in science attributed to the use of the KWL strategy. In light of the results, the study recommended the use of the KWL strategy in teaching all science subjects and the training of science teachers to use the KWL strategy in their teaching.
