Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the effect of using the five-year learning cycle (5Es) in teaching science on the acquisition of scientific concepts among sixth-grade students in Ma'an Governorate schools. The study used the quasi-experimental approach, where the study sample consisted of (50) male and female students chosen in four classes from Ma'an city schools, with (25) male and female students in the experimental group, and (25) male and female students in the control group, and the sample was chosen intentionally. The experimental group was taught using the five-year learning cycle and the control group was taught in the traditional way. To achieve the objectives of the study, a test was prepared. To measure the acquisition of scientific concepts among students, the test was applied to the two study groups, and the results showed that there was a statistically significant difference at (α≤ 0.05) between the averages of the members of the two groups on the test of scientific concepts in the post-application in science in favor of the experimental group, and the results also showed no effect of the gender variable. The social impact on students' acquisition of scientific concepts, and the presence of statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in scientific concepts due to the interaction between the five-year learning cycle and gender Socially and in favor of males in the experimental group.
