Abstract:

The study aims to propose a vision to enhance continuous learning in public libraries based on the dimensions of smart cities. The study adopted the developmental descriptive survey method and built a questionnaire as a tool for the study to identify the reality of the role of public libraries in promoting continuous learning based on the dimensions of smart cities from the point of view of the beneficiaries. The results showed that there is A statistically significant effect on the dimensions of enhancing continuous learning (digital amenities, smart growth, smart sustainable environment, and smart governance) based on digital citizen participation from the point of view of beneficiaries, where the correlation coefficient reached ((R=0.980), which indicates the presence of a significant correlation. Statistically, between the combined independent variables (digital amenities, smart growth, smart sustainable environment, and smart governance) and the dependent variable (smart city dimensions), it was shown that the value of the coefficient of determination (R2 = 0.961), which indicates that enhancing continuous learning (digital amenities, Smart growth, smart sustainable environment, and smart governance) explained 96.1% of the variance occurring in (smart city dimensions), while the remainder is due to other variables that were not included in the model. The value of (F=1194.886) was at a confidence level equal to (sig=0.000) This confirms the significance of the regression at a significance level of 0.05) > (α). Based on the results of the study and in accordance with the vision of the researchers, a proposed vision will be developed to enhance continuous learning in public libraries based on the dimensions of smart cities and knowing the degree of their suitability from the point of view of experts and specialists. The study recommends expanding the digital infrastructure of public libraries, and continuous training for workers and beneficiaries of library services by skilled hands. We specialize in e-learning and its applications.
