The level of Alignment of the Science Curriculum Content for Middle School with the National Standards of General Education Curriculum in Saudi Arabia.

Abstract:
The study aims to find the level of consistency of middle school science textbooks with the National Curriculum Standards for General Education in Saudi Arabia. The descriptive analysis method was used by content analysis tool. The tool consisted of (44) content standards with (3) branches: (13) in Physical Sciences, (15) in Life Sciences, and (16) in Earth and Space Sciences. After verifying the validity and reliability of the tool; The results showed that the level of consistency was fully achieved in high degree (77.27%), Which Physical Science branch was the most consistent (84.62%), then the Earth and Space Sciences branch (75.00%), and finally the Life Sciences branch (73.33%). Seven content standards (15.90%) were partially achieved, (4) in Life Sciences, (2) in Physical Sciences, and (1) in Earth and Space Sciences. While (3) standards (6.81%) were non-achieved, all of them in the Earth and Space Sciences branch. On the other hand; The results showed that all the objectives of the targeted science textbooks lessons related to the Life Sciences and Earth and Space Sciences branches were included in the content standards with (100%), while (98%) of the objectives of the lessons in Physical Sciences branch were included.
