Evaluation of "Learn Arabic" Website for non-Native Speakers Compared to "Learn French" Website. An Analytical Study

Abstract:

TThe gap appears to be very wide between the development of communication technologies, and the benefit from them in teaching, as evidenced by the lack of websites specialized in teaching Arabic, whether for native speakers or for non-native speakers. In addition, by comparing the Arabic language teaching websites with those specialized in teaching foreign languages; The Arabic websites appear in their first steps and need to be evaluated, corrected and encouraged to benefit from the possibilities offered by Internet technologies and the open knowledge spaces.

This study attempts to present an analytical and evaluative study for the (Learnning Arabic) website of the Al Jazeera network, compared to the French learning website (Apprendre le français avec TV5MONDE) of the TV5MONDE network. According to specific criteria, in order to identify the shortcomings and negatives in the Al Jazeera Learnning Arabic website, and to provide a set of recommendations and suggestions to solve them.
